The subject encompasses the study of classical Geography and its modern developments. Moreover, the subject equips students with necessary qualification to engage themselves in diverse fields such as GIS, Remote Sensing, geo-politics, NGOs, government sector, private companies and competitive exams. The Department is working in research collaboration with many renowned Japanese Universities and faculties from these Universities impart classroom teachings to the undergraduate students of this Department. The Department of Geography of this College has research collaboration with the Departments of Geography of Gauhati University. Osaka Gokin University (Japan)and Nara Women's University (Japan). It is at the forefront of remote sensing and GIS sciences and has a vibrant culture of organizing field trips, seminars and talks.
