Profile

Mathematics is an indispensible part of our lives. Mathematics is not only about formulas and computations but it also involves discoveries which seek to describe the natural world and embodies the human need to strive for a concrete scientific truth. The high level of cognitive exercise required to engage in complex mathematical theories and rules prepares the students for many more endeavours including scientific and economic research, engineering, finance sector, governmment policy making and specialised fields such as law and medicine. The Department was established in 1972 and has been an integral part of NGC family. In addition to their service in the College, the teachers of the Department offer extension services to many govt, schools to popularise the subject.
