Nowgong Girls' College

Physics is thc study of the workings and limitations of nature's laws. It is one of the oldest academic disciplines and the most widely respectcd. The study of physics has brought about so many pivotal discoveries of the 20th century including the laser, TV, radio, computer technology, DNA and nuclear weapons. It helps one develop a very strong head for numbers, a good grasp of scientitic principles and a keen interest in discoveries relating to the physical world, at particle and/or cosmic level.Studying Physics at the undergraduate level equips students for a career in higher research as well as for employment in various formal sectors. The Department was established in the year 2018 with the introduction of Science stream in NGC. The Department has state-of-the-art equipment for carrying out laboratory experiments. It adopts a variety of teaching-learning techniques for imparting knowledge to its students. The Department frequently organizes group discussions, seminars and invited talks on key aspects of the course curriculum.
