Nowgong Girls' College

Statistics is a highly essential subject. Most of the infinite information about the world starting from food to politics could be simplified and made accessible through the use of statistics. As such, knowledge about the subject would lead one to an advantageous position. The individual subject of Statistics and its combinations with other subjects like Mathematics, Economics and Education are crucial for competitive examinations and employment opportunities in financial and banking sectors. Moreover, the research possibilities offered by the subject are numerous and exciting. The Department of Statistics forms an integral part of NGC's academic sphere. In addition to their service in the College, the teachers of the Department offer extension services to many govt, schools to raise awareness about the subject.

• In practical classes, students learn to identify situations where to use one-way ANOVA, two-way ANOVA and different design like CRD, RBD ,LSD.
